PlantBulbShop is a small online nursery shop with one narrow obsession: getting good bulbs into the ground at the right moment. Not gadgets, not garden furniture — bulbs, corms, tubers and bare roots, ordered by variety, graded by size, and shipped when your climate is ready for them.

Why we started

Buying bulbs online is usually a gamble. The photograph shows a field of tulips; the parcel that arrives is a bag of small, unnamed bulbs with no planting depth, no flowering size and no clue about timing. We built this shop to remove that gamble: every listing states the variety, the grade and the season, and every order comes with the planting information you need in plain language.

How we choose what we sell

We stock a deliberately short list of reliable performers and a handful of things that are genuinely hard to find — single late tulips, species crocus, giant alliums, bearded iris, tree lilies, unusual amaryllis. If a variety is fussy, short-lived in most gardens, or simply does not bloom well from a shipped bulb, we leave it out rather than sell it and let you find out the hard way.

Graded, not just counted

Bulb size is the single biggest predictor of whether you get flowers in the first year. A 12cm tulip bulb and an 8cm tulip bulb look similar in a bag and behave nothing alike. We buy by grade, check lots against the grower’s label when they arrive, and list the size on the product page. Bulk bags are counted by weight-checked samples, not by eye.

Packed to survive the post

Dormant bulbs travel well if they are kept cool, dry and ventilated. We pack in breathable bags inside rigid cartons, with paper padding rather than sealed plastic, and we hold seasonal pre-orders until the weather is right instead of shipping bulbs that will sit in a warm warehouse.

The 60-day promise

If something fails to grow within 60 days of delivery, we replace it, refund it or credit it — your call, not ours. We ask for a photo and an order number because it helps us trace the lot and fix the problem upstream. The details are on our Refunds & Replacements page.

Talk to a person

Questions about a variety, a zone, or a bulb that came up blind? Email plantbulbshop@gmail.com — a gardener reads it, not a ticket bot. If we do not know the answer, we will say so and go find out.
